About Us

The One Foundation is a private philanthropic fund based in Dublin, Ireland. Our aim is to significantly improve the life chances of disadvantaged children and young people in Ireland and Vietnam.

By supporting non-profit organisations, we address three key social issues that affect young people today:

• Poverty & Disadvantage
• Mental Health
• Integration of Minorities

Founded on strong business principles, we believe that ‘active philanthropy’ can be a powerful way to generate long-term solutions to these issues. This means we invest funds, skills and other resources in non-profit organisations that share our vision to help them make a step change in impact.

Unlike many Foundations, we focus on funding the ‘core costs’ - those crucial to the infrastructure of an organisation and its work. Driven by philanthropic passion, our support allows non profits to: operate more effectively, build their capacity, and, ultimately, to make a wider positive impact.

We are a 10 year fund, set up in 2004 and operating until 2013. During this period, our founders and team aim to create long term, sustainable social change through the organisations we support. Our ethos of ‘giving while living’ means our founder is actively involved in all decisions. We also provide high level entrepreneurial knowledge, skills and resources, and work closely with non profits to maximise the value of our investment.
